The Centre for Long-Term Resilience (CLTR) is an independent, non-profit think tank working to transform global resilience to extreme risks. With a focus on artificial intelligence, biosecurity, and the future of government risk management, we advise governments and institutions on policies that can reduce the world’s most severe threats.
We are now seeking to appoint a Director of Operations to join our senior leadership team and play a central role in shaping the future of our mission.
The role spans the full operational spectrum, including internal systems and infrastructure, people and HR strategy, regulatory and legal compliance, financial oversight, risk management, and IT. The Director of Operations will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of performance and integrity across the organisation, while ensuring our people, processes, and platforms are aligned to deliver on our mission. As a member of the senior leadership team, you will also play a crucial role in shaping organisational strategy, supporting board relations, and guiding resource allocation and capacity planning. With a proactive and collaborative mindset, you will bring both strategic vision and operational precision, equally comfortable designing long-term solutions and diving into immediate challenges.
We are looking for an experienced leader with a track record of success in operational roles within dynamic and mission-driven environments. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of legal, financial, and regulatory frameworks, exceptional judgement and communication skills, and a values-driven approach to leadership. You will be able to build trust across diverse teams and stakeholders, lead with empathy and decisiveness, and bring a high degree of personal integrity and motivation to the role.
