The Australian Public Policy Institute – formerly the James Martin Institute for Public Policy (JMI)- is a joint venture between the government and a coalition of universities in Australia. First launched in 2021, the Institute partners with the government to identify public policy solutions by mobilising university expertise, accelerating collaboration between policymakers and researchers for the good of all Australians. APPI drives effective policy outcomes across four key areas that shape Australia's future: the economy and productivity, energy and the environment, infrastructure, mobility, technology, and society and wellbeing.
