The IYTT: International Youth Think Tank is a think tank led by young people, dedicated to strengthening democracy by inspiring decision-makers to pursue democratic renewal and encouraging individuals to become more active citizens. Youth Fellows, selected through open calls for annual four-day conferences with 24 participants, lead IYTT’s activities. To engage decision-makers, they develop proposals for democratic renewal, which are published in a user-friendly democracy handbook, as well as in reports, working papers, and policy briefs. To encourage active citizenship, Youth Fellows take to the streets, engaging in discussions with passers-by using a method they developed called Open Chair Democracy Talks (OCDT). Since its inception in Athens in September 2021, Youth Fellows have conducted OCDT sessions in over 60 locations across five continents.
